Can you say Roll Tide, SEC, BCS, Heisman, and Merry Christmas all in the same sentence? What a year it has been for JCF! The Lord has truly blessed us in so many ways, both personally and professionally.  Thank you for being a part of the ministry of Jeremiah Castille Foundation and supporting us through your prayers and gifts.  We are grateful to you and hope you enjoy the updates on the family and the foundation.
Breanna Alexandra CastilleUniversity of Alabama football season and the chapel program, Men of Stille, has been one to remember on and off the field. On the field, we had an undefeated regular season, won the SEC Championship and will play for the National Championship on January 7, 2010. Yes, the University of Alabama has its first Heisman trophy winner, Mark Ingram. If you watched the presentation of the Heisman, you had to shed a tear after listening to Mark’s acceptance speech. Hey! We are talking straight from the heart, the same way he plays the game, all heart. There are so many things that a coach can say and likes about Mark Ingram, but what I like most is that he has a heart for the Lord and it shows with his regular attendance at the Men of Stille chapel program each week over the past two years. When you look at Mark physically, he is muscular and strong, but you if you sit down and talk with him, he will tell you that his strength comes from the Lord. If there is a young man in college football worthy of the honor of the Heisman, it is #22, Mark Ingram.  I am proud to know Mark as a player, but more importantly as a young man.  Congratulations Mark and the University of Alabama. Can you say, Roll Tide!

Tim catches pass while with ChiefsHow proud Jean and I are that on November 24th, the Lord blessed us with our first grandchild, Breanna Alexandra Castille. Born to Tim and Dee, Breanna weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and was 21 in. long. WNBA here we come! By the way, Jean and I have new names, Big Papa and Honey. What a sweet time in our lives.

The 2009 football season has been a test for all 3 of the boys. Tim was released by the Cardinals and is now with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Simeon was released by the Bengals and is now with the San Diego Chargers and Caleb had to learn a new position, cornerback. Having shared with you the brawn of the family, it does not stop there. We also have 3 awesome daughters that are blessed with brains. Leah is a junior in her 1st year at the University of Alabama majoring in social work, Rachel is a freshman at Shelton State and Danielle is halfway through her sophomore year at Briarwood. The Castille family continues to strive to live God’s plan each day and is grateful for all of the blessings he continues to give us.

Simeon with the ChargersAn Evening with Coach Nick Saban was a fun event held at the Harbert Center in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 30, 2009. Coach Saban and Phil Savage generously donated their time to raise funds for JCF.  Thank you to the committee and volunteers who worked endless hours to make the event a success. With over 300 in attendance, the event raised $40,000.00 and assisted us in beginning renovations on the Jeremiah Castille Community Development Center Annex.  Pastor Mark Hobbs and Living Word Church Carpenters for Christ donated their time to begin the repairs.  Completion of the annex will allow us to begin a smaller version of the community program that God has placed on our hearts.  Donations to complete this project and begin funding for the Jeremiah Castille Community Development Center can be mailed to P.O. Box 382514, Birmingham, AL, 35238 or online at http://www.castillefoundation.org.

As we end 2009 and begin 2010, Jeremiah Castille Foundation wishes you a blessed holiday season celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  May your family and you have a healthy and prosperous New Year.
In Christ,

Jeremiah
